Mission Statement

The Islamic Center of Emporia, Kansas (ICEK) will help Muslim communities in Emporia, Kansas and the surrounding areas in presenting an excellent image of Islam through understanding and practice of the Islamic teachings, as described by the Qur’an and the Sunnah. The mission of ICEK will be exclusively religious, educational, and charitable within the meaning as defined in Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States of America.

Vision Statement

The Islamic Center of Emporia, Kansas (ICEK) provides modest views of Islamic teachings and services of highest quality related to Islam.

History

The Islamic Center of Emporia, Kansas was established in 2000 and started serving the Muslim community at Emporia and the surrounding areas in 2002.

Active Role in the Community

Helping Emporia State University with welcoming new students to the campus and
participating via the Muslim Student Association of Emporia State University in various community projects.

Objectives

  1. Representing and helping Muslims in Emporia, KS and surrounding areas to carry out Islamic activities which are described by the Shariah (Islamic Laws).
  2. Presenting Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims and promoting friendly relations and better understanding among them.
  3. Supporting and assisting Muslims in Emporia, KS and surrounding areas whenever possible.
  4. Encouraging members of ICEK to make donations for maintenance of the ICEK.
  5. Arranging and holding congregational prayers and Islamic religious activities at the ICEK.
  6. Enhancing communication among the Muslim communities.
  7. Conducting social, cultural, and educational activities according to Islamic principles.
  8. Welcoming the new students to Emporia State University.
  9. Helping Muslim youth to acquire the moral and ethical values of Islam.
